This workshop, facilitated by the National Council of Canadian Muslims. will explore the dynamics of Islamophobia in Canada and the ways it manifests on campus. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to accommodate the needs of Muslim students on campus and how to provide supports to students facing discrimination.

The training will cover:

鈥� Foundational understating of Islam and Muslims in Canada

鈥� Islamophobia on campus 鈥� understanding student and staff experience in classrooms and on university campuses across Canada.

鈥� Religious Accommodations 鈥� understanding the responsibilities to accommodate and how to assist students in accommodation requests.

鈥� Surveillance and policing 鈥� understanding the pressure students may face with surveillance and how-to best support students when they ask for assistance, resources, etc.

The workshop is open to faculty and staff across 91视频 and is supported by the Inclusive Community Fund.
